  • Primary Purpose

    Ensures the safety of all visitors at the aquatic center.  

Qualifications

  • Education / Certification

     American Red Cross or Ellis Certification

  • Special Knowledge / Skills

    • Must be a minimum of 16 years old
    • Must possess current Lifeguard, First Aid, AED and Advanced CPR Certifications (Periodically offered in FISD)
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
    • Must pass a criminal background  
  • Experience

    • Lifeguard experience preferred
  • Responsibilities

    • Assists and provides staff coverage in performance of duties.
    • Treats minor injuries and prepares incident reports.
    • Responds to and resolves inquiries and complaints from patrons or parents.
    • Performs meet set up, take down, lane changes and other related duties as assigned.
    • Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential..
    • Knowledge of customer service practices and techniques.
    • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and procedures.
    • Knowledge of FISD policies and procedures.
    • Skill in responding to emergency situations including safely rescuing drowning victims and administering CPR and First Aid.
    • Skill in effective oral and written communications.
    • Skill in resolving customer complaints and concerns.
    • Learns the operation and maintenance of the facility
  • Environment / Working Conditions

    Maintain emotional control under stress while working in and around pool
